SCRATCH Hardware No Brainer . . .

One of the biggest questions I get when people are purchasing Assimilate SCRATCH for their DI Suite is “What should I run this on?”  Well, according to Assimilates Hardware Guidelines you can use a number of qualified PC’s with specific spec’s.  Assimilate only checks the minimum spec’s to see if the PC is capable of running SCRATCH effectively.  The truth is that just about any tech savvy person who wants to build a station can go to Fry’s and build a workstation that meets the spec’s required for a pretty low price.  Of course you could also grow your own Penicillin but I think I’ll leave that to the biologists . . .

Experience has taught me that products are products but the people behind the product are what you pay for.  When it comes to custom PC’s for my SCRATCH clients, there’s no one I trust more than Globalstor Data Corp out of Southern California.  For a very brief moment in time, my previous employer attempted to build his own workstations and it became a complete nightmare.  The spec’s were similar to the big names but there’s a lot more that goes into building a computer than just plugging in all the pieces.  There are a number of under the hood adjustments required to make things run seamlessly.  I lost a very valued client in learning this lesson – and it still makes my stomach churn every time I think about it.  As big a deal as the secret sauce is, however, it still pales in comparison to how the company treats you after the purchase.

Globalstor’s support is the best I’ve ever seen – and I work with a lot of class-A vendors. From their QA process before the machine ever leaves the warehouse to their remote login support, if you have the slightest problem with any part of the system Globalstor support promptly takes care of it.  There’s no worse feeling than having hardware issues come up close to a deadline for a project.  Computers will always suffer issues here and there but when you have someone who can quickly resolve the problem you can spend more time on the project and less as a troubleshooter.

Let me be clear, yes I sell Globalstor and yes I make money if you chose them . . . BUT I also sell some competing boxes and could become approved with the others if I wanted.  There’s a reason I chose Globalstor.  I trust them with even my most highly sensitive clients and that’s trust not easily earned . . .
